Dr. Carmichael has been practicing in the nursing field for over 25 years. She has a background in psychiatric nursing along with over 20 years of clinical experience in the pharmaceutical research industry. Simultaneous studies in Holistic Health, Metaphysics, Divinity, Yoga, and Ayurveda have given her a well-rounded perspective on health and healing and its intimate relationship to spirituality. Ordained an Interfaith Minister in December 2002, she continues to deepen her understanding and experience of these topics as an integrative/holistic and preventive medicine consultant. She completed the Vedic Mastery program at the Chopra Center in Carlsbad, CA under the inspired direction of Drs. David Simon and Deepak Chopra. She is currently pursuing a Diploma in Ayurvedic Medicine at the New Jersey Institute of Ayurveda and will be completed an Internship in Ayurvedic Medicine in Coimbatore, India in the fall 2010.

Her belief in the interconnectedness between physiology, psychology and spirituality and the need for conventional as well as complementary modalities provides a vast array of choices by which one may begin their journey into healing. She has been a guest on radio talk shows and writes and speaks about spirituality as it relates to health and well-being in addition to various topics on prevention and complementary medicine. She founded Kalyana Centre (formerly known as The Center For Oneness) in Ardmore, PA in 2009 where she currently practices with other holistic professionals.
